Williiun Thomas mill lieorge Williams (the latter with several aliases), were charged with assaulting ail old'man named Ueorge Carter in the hack preinisi's of an holel last .night and robliing liim of a small sum <>l money. Tlie men were remanded, Williams' being allowed hail in .CIUO and two sureties of ,£SO each. GIIAHCKS OK ASSAULT. Thames, Last Sight. . At t'i>e District Court, before .ludge Kettle, Patrick Timmins, dialled with indecently assaulting a young givi at Te Arohu, the jury disagreed after four hours' retirement. A siew trial was ordered for next sessions. A native was fined £5 and costs for assault.
