The stewards of. the Canterbury J.C. met this morning to consider the identity of Mr. Duncan .Rutherford's lngoda, who won the Lyttelton Plate oil Thursday. After enquiry, the following resolution "was passed: "That l)y an unintentional error of identity lngoda was entered for the Lyttelton Plate as by .StepniakAnnigera, whereas it has been proved that she was by Stepniak • from Miss Niette." The stewards therefore decided that the entry is invalid, and she is distanced for the race. This means that {Sir George Gilford's Ploughsnare, who ran second, will get the stakes.
