The bourse was a triangular one. • The local bout secured a good position ; at the start. The Thelma was first over : lhe line, but in the steady breeze, the Sayonara quickly forged ahead and •rounded the first boy eight minutes and 'thirty-live seconds ahead of her rival. 'She sailed right away to the second liiuov, rounding, it ten minutes and •lifty-five seconds before the Thelma. On •the long, reach home, the Thelma slightly improved her position, sailing very •last in a freshening breeze, but the ♦Sayonjira finished nine minutes and ■fifty-one seconds before her.

' The previous- race,, sailed in Port •Philip on Friday last, resulted in a win •for the Thelma by 45 seconds. The Vriginal yacht Sayonara sailed from •Port Philip to Port Jackson and won •the cup from the Sydney yacht Bona. The owner of the winner, Air. A. Collin, •then presented the cup for competition •on a system simitar to that governing •the America Cup races.
