NATIONAL TESTIMONIAL. By Telegraph.—Press Association. , -...,- 1 - Auckland, Last Night. The suggestion made some time ago that Mr. W. F.'Massey, M.P., leader <a( the Opposition, should be made tfie Recipient of a national testimonial is assuming concrete fo.ui. ai a numerously attended meeting held in the Chamber of Commerce to-night, presided over by Mr. F. W. Lang, M.P., it was decided to take steps to present Mr. Massey with a national testimonial, to be raised by subscriptions of a shilling and upwards, and to invite tne cooperation of all interested in the movement throughout the Dominion. The resolution to that effect was proposed by Mr. Richard Monk, formerly member for Waitemata, seconded by Dr. Bamfield, and supported by Mr. James Allen (who assured the meeting that the movement would be heartily supported in the SouUi) ; Mr. E. W. Allison, Messrs. L. R. Plullips and J. Bollard, M'sP. and others.
