ACTION BY THE WORKSHOPS MEN. By Telegraph.—Press Association. / Christchurch, Last Night. A meeting of Addington railway workshops employees was held at noon on Tuesday, at which the chairman explained that no reply had been received from the -Minister tor Railways-to the request made by the employees for a public enquiry into the General .Manager's charges. Cameron as the employee's representative hefure the enquiry, and it was decided to set up a committee, consisting of two men from each department, to he elected by the men in each department, to assist Mr. Cameron. At a meeting of the committee of the Canterbury Branch of the Amalgamated .Society of Railway Servants, held tonight, the trouble at the Addington workshops was considered and the following motions were agreed to:—(1)

"That this committee endorses the action of the Addington workshop employees in demanding a public enquiry into the allegations made by the General .Manager, and considers that one assessor should be appointed by the employes concerned''; (2) "That the committee approves of the appointment of a representative to watch the interests of the employees, and pledges itself, on liehalf of the members of the society, to give every assistance, morally and financially."
