At a meeting of the committee of the Canterbury Branch of the Amalgamated .Society of Railway Servants, held tonight, the trouble at the Addington workshops was considered and the following motions were agreed to:—(1)
"That this committee endorses the action of the Addington workshop employees in demanding a public enquiry into the allegations made by the General .Manager, and considers that one assessor should be appointed by the employes concerned''; (2) "That the committee approves of the appointment of a representative to watch the interests of the employees, and pledges itself, on liehalf of the members of the society, to give every assistance, morally and financially."
