THE ITALIAN EARTHQUAKE
MORE VIOLENT SHOCKS. Rome, January 24. Several violent shocks of earthquake with subterranean rumblings occurred at Ueggio, causing the collapse of walls and creating a panic . Another shock of an undulating character happened at Messina and greatly, alarmed the people. European seismographs indicate an unknown earthquake. It was equal to the one in Sicily. Possibly it was a submarine disturbance.
