CANADIAN POLITICS.
A LIVELY SCENE. Received January 25, 11.50 p.m. Ottawa* January 25. A lively scene occurred in the Dominion House of Commons,, " The Premier (Sir Wilfrid Lauricr) attributed the Conservatives' success ia British Columbia to Mr. Borden, the Opposition lender, telegraphing tile following: " The Conservative party stands for a white Canada; for protection for \ white labour; for the absolute exclusion of Asiatics." Mr. Borden denied that he had sent the telegram worded as above, and ex- .- plained that he simply telegraphed to a newspaper that the Opposition party favoured a white Canada and absolute, protection for white labour. He had asked for an explanation from the news. paper hi question as to how the tele. gram was altered, and promised to report the fads to the House.
