'1 lie weather was line, the attendance huge, ami the track in excellent condition for tiie opening of the summer meeting of the Racing Club. The success of Blue Ribbon in the Cup was very popular, as it was the strong second favourite. Gold Crest started in the Telegraph (he hottest favourite of the day, but ran unplaced, Tumut effecting a surprise.
