WELLINGTON CASES. By Telegraph.—Press Association, Wellington, Last Night. At the Magistrate's Court to-day Wm, Gustavo Rlinn, alias Williams, alias Blunt, pleaded guilty to a charge of entering a hotel with intent to commit a crime. He was committed to the Supreme Court for sentence. Henry Williams, alias Finsbtirg, denied a similar charge, and was committed for trial.
SLY-GROGGERS FINED. Taihape, bast Night. Several eases of trallicking in liquor in an unlicensed area were heard at the Magistrate's Court to-ilny. Daniel Morris and Charles W. Hogyard were each fined £2O for taking liquor into an unlicensed aroar unlabelled. The costs amounted to £i 14s. Goorge Thomas Hutton for a similar offence was fined a similar amount, and costs ,tl Bs. W. T. Parsons and Daniel Dunne were each fined £5 and costs .€3 (is for taping liquor for sale in a native area. The proceedings are the result of activity on the part of the polico to stop sly grog-selling.
ALLEGED SHEEP-STEALINC. Carterton, January 20 The Court sat from noon yesterday till 1 a.m. hearing a charge of sheepstealing against John O'K'cofrc, who was charged with stealing throe sheep valued at 47s fid from Arthur Martin. The defence was a denial of the charge. Accused was committed for trial, hail being allowed in the sunt of £2OO.
