A VESSEL ASHORE.

OFF PATEA HEADS. The Patea Shipping Company's new steamer Arapawa, which arrived recently from the Old Country, on making her first trip from bytteltou to Patea, went ashore at the south pier, close inshore, oIV the Patea river yesterday. Every effort is being made to get her oil. The vessel lies in a safe position some 70ft off the south-eastern wall. It was expected that she would be rc-lloatcd last night.
