THE WALLABIES' TOUR. London, January 13. The Wallabies team of amateur Australian footballers defeated a combined fifteen of the British team which toured ] New Zealand last year and Clifton, ' scoriii" one goal and tivo tries as against one try. Received 14, 10.30 p.m. London, January 14. The ground was heavy. In the first half play \v;i- even. Ciavin obtained an unconverted try. In the second half Hiekey and McCable scored tries which the latter converted. The Englishmen also secured a try.
AV ATKl'ltS' ALLOWANCES. London, .laiumry 13. The Scottish Rugby Union has cancelled its fixture with England because I the English Union sanctioned payments to the All Macks ami Wallabies of one guinea a week to each man, besides his expenses. The Scottish committee unanimously opposes these payments as being contrary to the principle of amateur football, and declares that they amount to professionalism.
