ALLEGED THEFT. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Uist Night. ■Henry llenriekson and .Mary Tanner Here brought, up at the -Magistrate's Court to-day oil furlaer charges of breaking into a dwelling ami stealing goods therefrom, llenriekson pleaded guilty and was committed to the Supreme Court for sentence. The woman denied the charge, and was committed for trial.
PRIMITIVE METHODIST CONFERENCE. Auckland, Last Night.. At to-day's sitting of the Primitive .Methodist Conference it was decided that the Conference of 11110 be held at Tinuiru. It was resolved that a circular setting forth the needs of the Home .Mission Fund be distributed in the various circuits by the ministers and ollieinls of the Church. The president elected for the Ladies' Auxiliary Missionary League was Mrs. Wright, and the secretary Mrs. Laycock. IMMIGRATION. Auckland, Last Night. The petitioner was defeated by a verv narrow majority, the successful candidate by a, few votes being am-. 1;. Al. Thomson, an Oppositionist? .\ package of ballot papers disappeared mysteriously after the re-count, and nothing has since been heard of them. However, this has not been included among the grounds of the petition, Air. ISarclav relying mainly upon flic returning oflicer's action in regard to the alleged double voting as a reason for upsetting the election. A number of votes were disallowed by the returning officer on the ground that they were duplicates, while Air. Barclay contends that they are not, and that sullicicnt votes were thus disallowed as to turn the election in his opponent's favor. "
