PItESBYTEISIAXIS.M. By Telegraph,—Press Association. Wanganui, East Night. A special meeting of the Wanganui Presbytery was held at Turakina to-day, when a call addressed by tiie First Church at Invercargill to' ltev, li, il, Pyburn, ot St. Paul's, Wanganui, was considered. After discussion the eall was placed iu the hands of Mr. Uyburn who accepted it. A resolution w.is earned placing on record the Prcsbvtcrv's appreciation of Mr. ltvburn as a'minister and nmn. The pastoral tie will he severed on January ;ilst.
AL'CKLAND LICENSING COMMITTEI' ELECTION.
Auckland, East Night. At a meeting of the temperance party to-night, it was decided to support the candidature of the members of the present Licensing Committee at the fortlieoiuing election. The chairman (Mr. j.obcrt French) staled that each of the members had pledged himself to give 'effect to a 2") per cent, reduction, in the number of licensed houses in Auckland it elected.
