NEW NAVAL BASE

IN BRITISH COLUMBIA. Received 11, 11.17 p.m. London, January 11. The Admiralty announce that they intend to construct naval docks and other improvements at Esquimault, Vancouver Island, British Columbia. It is believed at Ottawa that the Imperial Government has abandoned the idea of handing the dockyards over to the Dominion.
