Cuddie (Chief Dairy Commissioner of New Zealand), and Messrs. J Sawyers and W. Grant (Chief Instructors/! l>«id a visit to the Opunake district lately. They visited the cheese factories at Pungarchu and lUhotu, and the butter factories at Opmmke, Pihiuna and Oaonui. They expressed themselves well satisfied with the quality of the outputs and the upkeep of the different factories, and found nothing to warrant any of them remaining to give instruction. Mr, Cuddie advises butter factories to instal combined churns and butter-workers, as a means of increasing the ovcr-rini by about 4 per cent. He is of opinion that the companies which have consigned this year will still be able to get good prices for their butter, judging from what he would gather on the London market last year.—.Times.
