Mr. Samuel moved tint the meeting is of the opinion that the lirst selection made Tiy tile committee in submitting tiie names of Messrs. "Wake and Hunter is in the best intemsts of education in duller. An amendment was moved upholding the majority's action. After a I long and warm discussion, a vote was taken and the aimudiuent declared !o<l by lit votes to t'l (householders only heing allowed to vote). A further amendment that all the committee 1"sign and the 7ioard be asked to suspend the appointment wus lost, the chairman of Hie committee stating that a fresh committee could not be elected. The motion was then put ami carried bv 70 to 48.
