After a I long and warm discussion, a vote was taken and the aimudiuent declared !o<l by lit votes to t'l (householders only heing allowed to vote). A further amendment that all the committee 1"sign and the 7ioard be asked to suspend the appointment wus lost, the chairman of Hie committee stating that a fresh committee could not be elected. The motion was then put ami carried bv 70 to 48.
