tommy m;i:x,y excuses. Received 1, 9;55 a.m. London, December '3l. Tommy Burns cabled to the newspaper Sporting Life that Johnson's seconds inllueneed the police intervention. He was strong and always had a chance, as •Johnson was tiring. Jle was willing to again light Johnson. The Sportsman says that Burns' challenge is considered a joke. The charge against Johnson's seconds the paper describes as childish, mean, contemptible and quite unfounded.
