Clark referred to ' the excellent manner in which .the sports meeting had beipi conducted, cspenally after having witnessed the pr=vious championship meeting at Christchurch Exhibition. , u A letter :was received from Mr. Vv. Kerr tendering his resignation as patron, in view of his early departure from Xew Plymouth, and enclosing a - farewell donation to the society's funds. ' On the motion of Jlr. Brookes, seconded by Mr. Elliott, it was resolved to tender Mr. Kerr a hearty vote of thanks for his pasit services to the society, and to also acknowledge with thanks the " donation. It was also resolved that Mr. . Kerr be elected a life member of the
