SWIMMING.
> T EW 'PLYMOUTH CLUB.
The New Plymouth Club opened its season last night, when a swimming gala was Held at the municipal baths. The weather .was favorable, and there w.is a very fair attendance, over two hundred people being present. The entries were fair, and some close finishes resulted. The first two or three events -were got off in quick succession, but before half of the programme was disposed of "weary waits' were in evidence. Messrs. Standish and Watkms acted judges, and their decisions met with approval. Messrs. W. Roberts anl 3. Bennett were timekeepers, and ilr. W. Lints starter.
