INAUSPICIOUS INAUGUIIATION. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Palmerston N., Tuesday. Tlie institution of the daily service between Wellington ami Auckland did •not have an auspicious commencement. The train left, Wellington at 10.30 last night, and was timed to reach Palmorston at 2.25 this morning. At Pukerua, however, progress was barred by a aemjlcd cattle-truck, and three and a-Jinlf hours elapsed before the train, -which carried about 180 passengers, could proceed. It arrived at Palmerston at six o'clock, where between 20 and 30 passengers had been waiting since two o'clock. After a brief stoppage here, the train proceeded on its journey.
