GREAT HOLIDAY ATTRACTION
VISIT OF WARSHIP TO NEW PLYMOUTH. The Mayor, Mr. G. Tisch, received the following telegram from the Premier, Sir Joseph Ward, yesterday:—-'With reference to your request for the presence of a warship at New Plymouth, as 1 have already informed you, I placed th» matter before his Excellency the Governor, and asked him to communicate with the Senior X T aval Officer with a ' view to seeing whether your wishes ' could" be met. A reply has now beei received that there will be no warship available 4th February, but a man-o'- ' war will be in New Plymouth on Ist ' January (Xcw Year's Day). As previously intimated, the Govern- ' ment training ship Amokura will be at Moturoa at the same time. The event 1 will no doubt contribute in no small d? ' gree to the success of the monster picnic to be held at the Breakwater on New Year's Day, as well as the othei holiday functions to be held during the same week. 1
