LOXDOX WOOL SALES. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington. Tuesday. The Department of Industries and Commerce has received the following cablegram from the High Commissioner at London, dated December 14:— The wool sales closed with firm and spirited competition. As no stock is accumulating, buyers plate full confidence in the future. There was a good demand for the American market, prospects being favorable. The estimated values are as follows:—'Superior merino ll%d to Is l''/ 2 il, medium !M to lid, inferior W/A to fine trossbreds (all grades) 1:1 d to Is l'/,d, medium B'/»d to lid. coarse (id to Od.
MesM-=. Dai-rely &■ Company. Ltd.. Wellington, have received the followiim cable message from London, dated 12th inst.:— The wool sales closed firm. Since our last cablegram scoured super merino wools are 5 per cent, higher, and other descriptions of scoured merinos are 5 to 10 per cent, higher. Super merino, combing. 10 to 15 per cent, higher. Creasy merino wools, suitable for America, and greasy merinos of other descriptions 10 per cent, higher, except short wasty merino wools, which are 7V4 per cent, higher. For cross-bred wools of fine quality prices are 10 per cent, higher, and cross-bred wools of medium and coarse quality are 10 to 15 per cent, higher. The total -net quantity amounted to 180,500 bales, of which fIOOO liales have been sold to America. 83.000 bales to the Continent, and 70.500 hales for .Home consumption, leaving stocks on hand of 17.000 hales.
