PRESENTATION.
.Mr. V>. Tooke, who has just retired from the foreimuisliip of the Xew Plymouth Sash and Door Factory aft'ir ■2B. years' service, was last night made the recipient of a presentation at the hands of those who ■ had served their apprenticeship under him. The presentation, which was made privately, took the form of a large oak frame set with photographs of each of the boys who had served under him, with a space in the middle left for Mr. Tooke's own .photograph, splendidly arranged and illuminated, and hearing the following inscription: ".Presented to Mr. 11. Tooke by Ike boys who served their apprenticeship and worked under him for the past 28 years, in recognition of the conscientious and thov mgh manner in which he taught ih '■...( trade." The frame 's 45 x -iilin, and is a credit to the establishment in which it was produced (■Messrs. Bellringer Bros.). The names ot the apprentices whose photographs appear in the address are: F. R. Pepperell, 1883-1908; M. J. Marsh, 1883-03; •(. H. Kolison, 1885-01; J. 0. Millar. 1880-11)08; W. J. Berridge, 18011908; R. Tooke, 18054005; J. Scanlvn, 1897-1003; W, .Martin, 1808-1904; P. Allen, 1890-11)04; .0. Millar, 1000-1900; .J. Clark, 1900-1906; N. Tooke, 11)01 - 11100; X. Martin. 1001-1007; P. Whitco'nibe, 1902-d905; H. Rowe, 1903-1008; Tj. lilanchard, 1903-1008; O. Boulton, 1004-1008; H. Marsh, 1005-1008; 0. 11. Moore (journeyman), 15 years; It. Birch (journeyman), 13 years. Another present banded to Mr. Tooke was a valuable hot-water kettle with a spirit stove attached. Mr. Tooke, who was quite taken \iy surprise, acknowledged the presents in I suitable and feeling terms.
