All the prettily-designed stalls, reproductive of stars, crescents, met cur-, iiiiil various constellation-, are now ready for erection in the Theatre Uoy.'l for the Wliitcley Memorial Church bazaar to lie held on Thursday and Friday next. The various committees oi the congregation have bee;i hard at work upon the duties specially allotted to them, and now they report everything ill train for the opening on Thurs- I day by the Mayor. The warm weather has prompted the management to make every provision for cool refreshment, and. ice-cream gardens, Japa'nese tearooms, and stalls for the sale of summer drinks will be found in the hall. .Tlie aipproach of Christmas is evidenced j by the special offering of beautifullyiced, well-made cakes.of varied sizes. A Christmas cave is redolent of the English festive season, and a post ollice will be in full swing. The "cave" is | said to be an attractive novelty. The "business end" comprises several stalls on wliiioh needlework of all kinds, made by members of the congregation and synipathiseirs, will lie olVered for sa.'.e at .moderate rates, the range of goods .including all articles of children's wear, .with some very pretty dresses, pinafore-, and so on, and ladies' underwear. There will also lie a line collection of ,pot plants, including, most of our best ferns. As matters stand at present our Methodist friends seem to be in for a .pretty good time.

The "Scarlet Trotibu.dours," whose recent visit will be favorably remembered by many, are to reappear at the Theatre Royal for one night only on Saturday next in a. complete change of programme. Mr. Edward Branseonihe is anxious to dispel from the minds of those of his patrons will) are not. already familiar with the character of the performance given by tlie-e singers the mistaken idea that these entertainments are of the ordinary- "vaudeville" type. The "Troubadours" are a comedy costume party, and although a strong clement of humor pervades, it is essentially musical throughout. Choruses, solos, male quartettes, duos, etc., are given in costume, in many cases grouped together to constitute short, scenes, into which are in- ' ,traduced clever witticisms and smart patter, quite, free from all vulgarity.
