MANAIA UA.CINC CLl'li. The annual meeting of the Munaia Racing Club was held in the Munaia Hotel on Thursday evening last. Mr. A. 11. Christie presided. The auuual report, read by the seoroj tarv (Mr. 0. 11. Lusher) stuted that the I past year had been successful. The 1 club started with a credit of £73 17s 9d and finished with J175 His 7d. The , 1 receipts for the year were shown at i)s Id, being' ,Cl's His 7d in excels of tlie expenditure. The chief items oa the side <»f revenue included: Subscriptions £34 Iw, nominations and accepianees Ju-i(» 10s, privileges, gates, etc. i j:l#7 lis lid. On the. other side stakes accounted for £l4O, and the balance was made up of various items. The report and balance-sheet were
adopted. The following ollice-bearers were appointed for the year: —Patron, Mr. (J. K. .Major; president, .Mr. J. 1). .Mitchell; vice-presidents, Dr. Xoonan. G. S. Kissling. 1). Hughes, seni - ., Ji. Dive, G. A . l'carce, Gillies and Xaldcr, and W. L'. Phillips; hon. surgeon, Dr. Xoonan; timekeeper. Mr. 11. Vine; clerk of scales, .Mr. A. H. Christie; clerk of course, Mv. T. Sutherland; handieapper, .Mr. 11. I licks; judge, Mr. J. Croiker; starter, I Mr. A. ' T. Willis; Held steward, Mr. | E. Godfrey; auditor, Mr. 1 S. kissling; treasurer, Mr. .1. J. Mcldon. 'L'lie fixing of the date for the next race meeting was left to the committee, with a recommendation to keep it as close to the Opunake date as possible. It was decided 'to recommend the committee to increase the stakes to .Cl<7-»; and it was also decided to recommend the inclusion of a trotting event on the programme. ilr. G. D. McKenzie offered a donation of a guinea towards a .trophy, to be allocated at the discretion of the committee.
Owners tire reminded that acceptances for the Stratford races close on Wednesday. 23rd inst. As Mr. Henrys, liundicapper to the Stratford Racing Club, is unable to attend the meeting on January 1 and i, Mr. J. Chadwick, of Auckland, wiJ frame the handicaps for the second day.
