VICTORIAN POLITICS.
AN UNPRECEDENTED COURSE. GIVING THE PREMIER TWO CHANCES. Melbourne, December 0. The granting of a dissolution has created a surprise. Mr. Murray, who moved tlte vote of censure on behalf of the Country Party, declared that this course was unprecedented. A dissolution shiuld only take place when there was no chance of a stable Government being formed, The leader of the Labour Party said it seemed an extraordinary procedure to give Sir Thomas Bent two chances. Sir Thomas Bent, in a speech at Bendigo, said it was true that he had been defeated by his friends. Intriguing had been going on and lie was not going to take it lying down. Overtures had been made to him to go to the Labour Party in order to carry the Land Valuation Bill and so to break lup his own party. To those who had! suggested this he had replied, "Go to —. (You know where.)" He was not very polished on such occasions. The proper thing to do was to ask th« i people for their verdict.
