It was further decided that the newly-appointed executive be requested to furaish the Australasian A.A. Union with a report detailing the present administration of amateur atheltics in New Zealand, and that the Australian A.A. Union be requested to officially recognise the newly-appointed executive as the governing ' < dy of amateur athletics in New Zealand. All the powers conferred on the N.Z.A.A.A. Council were by resolution given to the executive. South! ;nd was awarded the championships for 1909, which will probably be held at Gore.

PUBLIC SCHOOL SPORTS. Christchurcli, Saturday Night. The Public Schools Amateur Athletic Association's sports were held to-day in brilliantly fine weather, and were very largely attended. Several fine displays were given by school children and cadets, and a very lengthy programme of sports was gone through. The 880 yds championship, for which there were 21 entries, was won by L. Blackmore (West Christchurcli) in 2min 20sec. The event was keenly contested, and was won on the tape.
