A boy of seventeen committed a terrible crime in ll'.iris this afternoon. lie had made the acquaintance of a servant, and called on her in the house where she was employed, taking with him a long knife, a " life-preserver," a revolver, and burglar's tools. The servant refused to allow him to leave the kitchen to enter the Hat, whereupon he killed her with his knife, '.uid, seizing a quantity of valuables, walked downstairs. On bis way out he met a man ascending the stairs. •• I have heard a cry for help,'' said the man. " Yes," answered the boy ; " some one is ill. and I am going to fetch a doctor." I am a doctor myself," replied file man, and be refused to let the boy go before he had seen what was wrong, lie then had the boy arrested.
