A SLANDER CASE. | By Telegraph.—-Press Association. Auckland, December 4. In the Supreme Court, John Robert Martin claimed £250 damages from William Mouaghan for slander, alleging that tlve defendant said to him in the Epsom saleyards, "Have you not stolen my cow':" The defendant asserted that he did 'not use these words, but said something else by way of a joke. Judge Edwards awarded -tIOO damages, and directed the police to take a note of the evidence with n view to a possible prosecution for perjury. .'DIVORCE, Auckland, December 4. At the Divorce Court a decree nisi was granted to Timothy Edwin Jones, biishiuan, of AVaihi, against Emma Catherine Jones on the ground of misconduct. Inverciirgill. Last Night. At the Supreme Court to-day a decree nisi, with t'2oo damages against corespondent, was made in the ease of Phillips v. Phillips and Roberts, husband's petition on the ground of adultery.
