A BYE-ELECTION, i London, December 2. The election for Chelmsford (Essex) necessitated by the resignation of Major Sir F. C. Rasch (Conservative) resulted in the return of Mr. Prettym.in, a tariff reformer. The voting was:— Prettyinan (Conservative) .. 0142 A. H. Denco (Liberal).. .. 3587 At the general elections in 1000 Sir F. C. Rasch (Conservative) defeated Mr Denco (Liberal) by 4015 votes to 4461.
