ADVICE FROM LABOR UXIOXS. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The Wellington Trades and Labor Council to-night resolved that the Minister of Labor be asked to consider the advisability of accepting quarterly reports from secretaries of unions as to the state of trade, the class of trades-, men needed, and also those for whom there arc no openings, such reports to be forwarded to the High Commissioner in London for inclusion in the report issued by him to intending emigrants. Auckland, Thursday. The Auckland Slaughtermen s i n:> passed the following resolution:—That if the interpretation of the Arbitration Court with regard to pieceworkers, holiday rates of overtime, and time off in lieu of Sunday, is correct, the I'nion considers the industrial agreement unworlhv of the I'nion's name; and that the I'iiion should, if necessary, cancel its registration and accept the responsibility of securing justice by other methods. A further resolution directed members of the Union in eases where employers refused to concede their demands in regard to pieceworkers' holidays to take advantage of the ruling by working or refusing to work when they thought proper.
