A PLUCKY WOMAN.
SHOOTS A BURGLAR. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Napier, December 2, A burglar who entered the residence of Mr. R. Williams last night met wita a warm reception. Mr. Williams ,was away on holiday, but his wife and servants were sleeping in the house. In his quest for booty the burglar disturbed Mrs. Williams, who on going to the top of the stairs saw a light below. She returned; to her bedroom to get a. revolver. The noise apparently alarmed the intruder, who sought to make good his escafie. .Mrs. Williams fired, but missed with the first shot. Th» second shot is believed to have hit the man in the shoulder. He dropped & big package containing jewellery and silverware and the keys of Messrs Williams and Son's warehouse. The police were immediately notified, but no trace could be found of tin burglar.
