Ivirk) has communicated with the presidents of other societies, ascertaining what members will be able to take part in the expedition, and replies are still coming in. In this connection it may be stated that arrangements have also been made for a party of Christehurch scientists to visit the West Coast Sounds in January, and they ivill return in time to ' join the Chatham Islands party.
