SHUNTING FATALITY, By Telegraph.-Press Association. Alaslei'tun, .November .10. A shunter named Leonard Knight was killed at the railway station here this morning, lie was trying lo connect an engine with a truck when lie slipped. The locomotive parsed over him, and his body was frightfully mangled. Death was almu.-t instantaneous. Deceased was a young man, and had not long been stationed at .Masterton. FATAL TRAP ACCIDENT. lliraedin, Xovember 30. A man named Patrick McDonald, who was injured by being thrown from a trap at llomona on Wednesday, died at the Hospital last night, A FATAL DRINK. i Auckland, November 30. An elderly man named Thomas Tnine, residing at Devonpnvt, was admitted to the hospital suffering from the effects of dffrnking spirits, of salts. He bad taken the chemical in mistake for whiskv. He died twelve boiw-s later.
