Wellington, Thursday. The following cable has been received from the High Commissioner at London, dated November 25: The- wool sales have commence,!. There is a large attendance and keen competition. Prices for merinos and crossbreds show an average advance for last sale of y,d and %d respectively. Americans are operating freely in buying suitable lots. Prospects are favorable. LOXDOX WOOL SALES. Dalgety & Co. have received the fo'lowing cable message from their London house, dated the 2ith instant:—The wool sales have opened and there is a large attendance of buyers. Competition is very animated. Selection fair. As compared with the closing rates of the September series prices have advanced as follow: Greasy merinos 7'/2 per cent., scoured merinos 5 per cent, to 7Vs per cent., greasy and scoured crossbreds 10 per cent, to 15 per cent. (These advances were already anticipated at the last sale held in Wellington.)
