THE LICENSING BILL. Received 22, 4 p.m. l/mdon, November 21. In tile House of Commons, the Premier (Mr. 11, 11. Asi|uitli) strongly defended the Licensing Hill, declaring it represented the good sense and considered judgment of the House. After a vigorous reply on the part of the Opposition the third reading was carried by 3.">0 to 113. The measure was sent to the House of Lords, where it was formally read a first time. Tile Christmas recess will be of short duration owing to the desire of the Government to push on the Education Bill.
