The directors reported the demand for the company's manufactures was in excess of the supply, and that arrangements had been made for additions to buildings and machinery costing £3500. , The proftt for the yoar was £7784 10» lOd, The directors recommended ia dividend of fl p er cent, the balance ( £BOO 3s Od) to l>c carried forward. Gardiner's Baron Kvre; reserve champion W. Gard--1 incr's Prince Andrew; champion marc. W. Gardiner's Daisy Rell; reserve champion mare, Irving's Silver Rose A MUSICAL PRODIGY. Invereargill, Last Night. A* a result of the Trinity College music examinations, which 'concluded here to (la v. by Mr. Henry Saint fleorcc, of London, Miss Dorothy Browning, aged only thirteen years a nd nine achieved the remarkable honor of A.I.C.L. pianist with a total of 98 marks out 01' a possible hundred. SERIOUS ASSAULt CASE, Gisrborne, Friday. A laboring man named William Harvey was seriously assaulted and found with several injuries about his head. Harvev alleges that a man named James Jackson, with whom he was drinking yesterilav, came into ihis house and attacked nun with a wool hook without provooa* tion. Jackson has been arrested on a charge of assault and causing bodily harm, and remanded, as Harvey ia not in a condition to appear.
