A COMPLAINT.
To the Editor. Sir,—ln company with two others, thin afternoon I walked several miles | to enjoy a swim in the saltwater baths. The baths were, however, shut up, and a notice (■evidently placed in iposition this morning) gave us the cheerful news that by order of the Town Clerk the baths would be closed for the afternoon. I would like to know why the baths should be open in the morning for the benefit of a leisured few and denied to workers and others who can only spare a few minutes after work to have their dip. In future perhaps the caretaker will give us notice at least a day beforehand, and thereby save many going on a wild-goose chase.—l am, etc., SWIMMER. I7th November, 1908. [The Council publicly notified that on the afternoon of the day in question all employees would be given a holiday. The caretaker of the baths is a Council employee.—Ed.]
