THE HARBOR LOAN

CAKIUED jUV AN OVERWHELMING MAJOIUcTV. Considerable interest was shown in ilii! harbor poll yesterday, particularly ill New Plymouth, where about votes were registered. There was also heavy polling at ■Stratford, Jnglewood and many ol tlie minor booths.

Under the tile new Act, the returning Officer is unable to make a declaration of the polling until he is in possession of the complete returns. These were not available at a late hour last night, and consequently we are unable to publish them this morning. Some of the country polling bootlis are many miles from a telephone, and particulars of the polling at those plains will not be known till to-day.

We are, however, in a position to state that the poll was carried by an overwhelming majority.
