THE COST OF THE TWO-POWER STANDARD. Received 15, 0.45 p.m. London, November 14. The Chronicle applauds Mr. Asquith's notable declaration regarding naval eoastructinn, though it will mean an increase in the naval estimates of five to six millions. The paper fears that Mr. Lloyd-George will be forced to lace twenty millions additional taxation. A number of Radical newspapers is trying to water down Mr. Asquith's declaration ia regard to the navy.
