AMUSEMENTS.

HAYDN BECK RECITAL. All appearances indicate n, bumper audience to greet the bright little Wanganui marvel and assisting vocalists at tlio Theatre Royal this evening, llaydn, Beck is a liappy, curly-liaired, ■handsome boy., who thoroughly enjoys his playing. TJie.iWanganui Herald says that "Lis line flaying roused the audience to a high pitch of enthusiasm, and more than once he bad to return and play again," and tile difficulties of the works are no inn re, to him "than playing marbles would be to the ordinary boy." liis achievements since the age of six are believed to be witljout a parallel in the world's history, of child violin celebrities. His concerts everywhere have been a list of brilliant triumphs, and as the profit-proceeds of these concerts arc' to be'devoted to a further development of - 'this boy's wondarful powers under the greatest masters available in- Europe, it is to be hoped that to-night's receipts will considerably augment the fund. It is urged that by their patronage the people of New Zealand will not only encourage a most laudable aim, but in the delightful entertain- | incut ull'ered by this marvellous child will receive more than value for the money spent. The programme appears in our advertising columns. The box plan is at the Dresden.
