THE GOVERNMENT'S PROSPECTS. By 'ielegrapb.—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. In the course of an interview with a Herald representative to-night, the Prime Minister stated that the elecion propects so far as the Government Party is concerned are very good. Indeed, the feeling of friendship towards the Government was very good througih out the country. "Our supporters," he
said, "are in good heart, and I feel confident that the result 01 the elections will be in every way in our favor." Sir Josch Ward says that so far as can be judged, there will be a dozen second ballots in the Dominion. He will speak at Auckland to-morrow night, at New {Plymouth on- Monday night, and at Pahiatua on Tuesday night.
Clore, Last Night. Mr. G. J. Anderson, who is contesting Mataura against the Hon. R. McNab, addressed a large meeting to-night, and declared himself a strong supporter of the freehold, and leasehold with the option. He trenchantly criticised the administration of the Agricultural and Lands Departments. He also spoke against the Meikle vote. He received a good ■'hcarhig, and received a vote of thanks and confidence. Dunedin, Last Night. The following candidates have been received for Otago seats:—Dunedin North: A. K. Barclay; Dunedin South, T. K. Sidey; Chalmers, E. IT. Clark; Taieri, T. MacKenzie; Tuapoka, R. Scott, .T. A, MacPherson. Hokitika, Last Night. Mr. 11. L. Michel was nominated today for the Wostla-id constituency.
