AX OPEN LETTER. It is often urged against our Church, and sometimes with apparent justification, that she falls short in the discharge of her responsibility, inasmuch as she (hesitates to give a 'decided and definite lead to her people on subjects of the greatest hioral import. We are anxious as regards our own parishes and.districts to avoid the reproach, so far us it applies to the verygrave moral and social issue involved in the forthcoming LOCAL OPTION POLL. It was arrived at after a long and exhaustive discussion, and adopted under a very real sense of responsibility. We are unanimous in recommending our people to weigh well the issues depending on the poll; and we pray to COD our r'ATlllilt that by the power of His Holy Spirit He will grant to us and to our people a rk'ht judgment- in all things.
