THE SYNOD AND NO-LICENSE.
To the Editor. Sir,—"G.H.M." takes me to task as to the alleged inaccuracy of statements made concerning Rev. Palmer, to which 1 reiterate that in the pamphlet referred to were enclosed speeches by liishop Julius and Rev. Whitehousc, of Cliristchureli and Ashburton and the postscript on the Rev. Palmer's letter was vague .enough to leave the public ti suppose that the Synod referred to was (,'linslchurch. Why, 1 should like to ask, did Rev. Palmer not mention Auck-1 land Synod, if his postscript referred to same! It is interesting to note that the Auckland Synod is the only one! supporting JJo-licciise. Christchurch is I not in favour and Auckland has left 't alone'/ Why? Hceause the No-lieense areas arc within those latter two dioceses, and its non-success is most apparent to both the clergy and laity there. Beware, readers, says "U.H.M.," to which 1 reply "Veritas Vincit." Hence my siom-deplume, ABSOLUTE FACTS.*
