At the request of the president's wife (.Mrs. Cock) the visitors and members gathered round the pavilion, where afternoon tea was dispensed. A match was then played between sides chosen by tile president and vicepresident respectively, and resulted as follows:

During the afternoon the president presented to the chili a very fine merit board of polished riniu, bearing in letters of gold Hie names of the club's presidents, vice-presidents, and secretaries from the date of the inception of the club. The list is surmounted by a carved pediment. in which the emblem of the Scot —the thistle—is the conspicuous feature.
