MANAWATU SHOW.
By Telegraph.—Press Association. Palmerston X., Jiasl Night. The Manawatu Show continued today in line though windy weather. The attendance was larger than on tiie corresponding day ol last year. There were exceptionally tine entries in the liorse classes, excepting in thoroughbreds, for which there was only one entry. There was a magnificent display of polo ponies, unequalled in the Dominion, Mr. 11. N. Watson's I'ukeLotara being the prize-taker. Saddle horses were up to a good standard, J. 11. MacXiven's Juggler taking the championship for weight-carrying hack, and J. Scoon the championship for single harness liorse. The draughts were a very fine lot, and the judging was difficult. The Westport Coal Company won the champion gelding, and J. W. Harding's Queen Agg the championship mare. The Romncy Marsh classes were the strongest in the sheep classes, Gray Bros, showing the champion ram /ffnd G. E. Allen the champion ewe. Lincolns were not so good as last year, Wm. Perry sco'oped the pool and stiow;d the champion ewe and ram. In English Leicester* tlie prize-takers were S. It. Lancaster's champion ram and Slack Bros.' champion ewe. In Borders I'. Xeilsen's ram was champion and Slack llros. showed the champion ewe. li-i Shropshire Downs, J, P. Corrigan's ram and ewe scored. In Soutlnlowns Ellis liros. exhibited the champion ram and S. It. Lancaster the ewe. Cattle were strong in the stud classes, anil improved in Shorthorns. Ilerefords were represented, and there were very good entries in Ayrshire's and Jerseys. The 'championships were awarded—Shorthorn bull, M. Williams' Royal Duke IX. (champion); Jit. Herbert Estate's Lord Herbert (reserve champion); Shorthorn Cow. ML Herbert Estate's Duchess of Oxford XIV. (champion), Dalziell Bros.' Blair Athol Duchess (reserve champion); Ayrshire bull, W. P. Harrc's Little Arab (champion), Cuff Bros.' Young Champon (reserve champioii ; Ayrshire cow, Slack Bros.' Blanche IT. {champion), Porirua Mental Hospital's Maggie (reserve champion); Hereford heifer, G. P. Moore's Aberdeen; Annus hull, A. S. C'arlya'n; Jerseys. E. Eno-le's hull; Holstein Friesan bull, Newton Ivuig. Miss Brigg's Itawhiti won tlie lady's hunters, and Miss Abbott took second and third. Tn the steeplechase, MacXiren's Tickpocket was first, and Gaisford s The Vagrant second.
