Bainj vice-president, Mr. S. J. Clark*;, executive commiClec, Messrs. W. j<. Thompson. D. McLeod, J. Russell and W. 11. Bennett (all re-elected); representatives on the advisory board of the I'arlianicntary committee of the New Zealand Employers' Federation, Messrs. Bennett and Thompson. The annual levy was fixed at .is (id per member. It was decided to accept the invitation of the Cliristchurch Association to hold the next annual meeting there. A draft form of agreement as Ijvuveen contractor anil sub contractor was submitted by a sub-coiuniittce and referred to the solicitor for approval, after which it will be forwarded to t'iie various associations. t'lider the proposed agreement, a sub-contractor must covenant to take out a policy to cover himself and employees, and to lodge this policy witli the contractor. This will make it possible for a contractor, by exercise of reasonable vigilance, to seei that he is indemnified againt loss through accident. It was decided to urge the Government to take more active steps to conserve the timber supplies. It was resolved alsy that in nil eases before the Arbitration Court or Industrial Councils, strong effort should be made to have tire minimum wage computed at, say. 20 per cent, below the standard wage.
