TARANAKI SCHOOLROOMS.

To tie Editor. Sir,—There is never smoke without a fin—or, ;ls perhaps Mr. Stevens would say, •'seldom fire without smoke." possibly both views are correct with respect to the wanning of the Taranaki schools and the. remarks of your correspondent. There is, indeed, something chilly about Mr. Stevens' criticisms. Perhaps "Onlooker" sees most of the game. At any rate, his letter is a credit to the school'room in which he learnt to warm up to his subject so well. Sir, let us hope that the temperature of his abode nniy ever be maintained.—! am, etc., • l'W., Inglewood.
