MHie -seventh annual meeting of shareholder* eventuated in in Town Hall, New Plymouth, lat night. About ;50 sliareiiolders were present, Mr. E. Dockrill presiding. The report was pri•jented as follows an<. adopted:— "The directors lave again the plca•gnre of submitting to you the statements of accounts and balance-sheet for tile past year, which indicate the continued progress and prosperity of the Society, 'both groups, alter allowing for all working expenses, showing a substantial profit. During tlie year twelv* appropriations of £l5O luvv -been disposed of in the first group, and j loans have been advanced to the amount of £2320 !..« 2d; and twelve appropriations of £l*o have been disS* o»ed of in the second group and loans av-e been advanced to the amount of £1804; showing an increase of loans of £894 in the first and £538 in the .second group during the past year. This increase is certain to be continued in the future from the larger amount of redemptions that will be paid consequent on the increase of appropriations, hence very much enhancing the useful--ness of the society to its members. The profits of tire first group during the past vear amount to £95 2s, making a total of £690 13s 2d, equal tt ZBs 6d per share: and on the second iroup £« 15s 2d, making a total ot £233 Ms M. equal io 8s 2d per share.
