BREAKING .AND ENTERIiNG, Christcliurcli, Last Night. ■ l'lio two men Edward Potts and Frederick |Creagcr iwcre ajjaiu before ' the Court this morning charged with breaking and entering the residence of Oswald Kelly at Islington, and stealing therefrom household furniture and effects to the value of JC3O 3s (Id. Chief Detective Bishop, who prosecuted for the police, stated the men had admitted the theft, and the property had been recovered. Accused pleaded guilty, and were committed to the .Supreme Court for sentence. A further charge against the accused of having stolen from the Islington railway station various articles valued .it £SO, also the property of Oswald Kelly, was, on the application of Chief Detective Bishop, i remanded for a week.
THE CRIMINAL COURT. 1 Auckland, Last Night. The next criminal session of the Auckland Supreme Court promises to be a very lengthy one. So lav 23 cases are down for hearing, and it is a somewhat remarkable fact that of this number thero are no less than three murder charges, and one of attempted murder. Thero is the usual ibatcii of forgery and breaking and entering charges, and there is an unpleasantly large number of charges of assault upon females. UNREGISTERED CHEMISTS. Lyttelton, Wednesday. At the Court to-day the chairman and mouthers of the. dispensary committee of the Lyttelton Friendly Societies were charged with carrying on a business, not b'eing themselves registered chemists, and without laving a qualified man in charge. Defendants ad milled that an unqualified man had been ill charge for two periods of throe weeks each because it was impossible to secure a proper person. Correspondence was read showing that the committee had been warned. The chairman was lined £2 on each of Wo informations and the others were convicted and discharged.
